Year 12 General Art Spotlight
How incredible is this creature! Year 12 General Art student Tara Tyrrell-Allan designed this hybrid as part of her Australian Hybrid Sculpture project. Students were challenged to combine features from an Australian insect, reptile, and native animal to create a unique mythical creature inspired by our country's remarkable wildlife and landscapes. Tara fused elements of a crocodile, a prehistoric Australian Mammal (a thylacine), and a dragonfly, bringing her design to life using gourmet cloth mâché, wire, newspaper, and iridescent cellophane wings. A brilliant blend of creativity, craftspersonship, and Australian inspiration.
