Term 4 Visual Arts News

It's been an exciting time within our Visual Arts department with many talented creative students producing amazing pieces of work.

Rising Talent: Trisna Sugiartha Recognised in Bayswater Art Awards

Congratulations to Year 11 Art student Trisna S!

Trisna's stunning artwork has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 Bayswater Community Art Awards (https://www.bayswater.wa.gov.au/artawards); an incredible achievement and recognition of her talent and dedication. Her expressive painting captures a deeply personal and intimate moment, showcasing her remarkable skill and sensitivity as an emerging artist. You can see Trisna's work on display at The RISE, Maylands, from 1 to 15 November as part of the Bayswater Community Art Awards Exhibition. We're so proud of you, Trisna!

Year 12 General Art Spotlight

How incredible is this creature! Year 12 General Art student Tara Tyrrell-Allan designed this hybrid as part of her Australian Hybrid Sculpture project. Students were challenged to combine features from an Australian insect, reptile, and native animal to create a unique mythical creature inspired by our country's remarkable wildlife and landscapes. Tara fused elements of a crocodile, a prehistoric Australian Mammal (a thylacine), and a dragonfly, bringing her design to life using gourmet cloth mâché, wire, newspaper, and iridescent cellophane wings. A brilliant blend of creativity, craftspersonship, and Australian inspiration.

Year 7 Nature Inspired Triptychs

Our Year 7 Art students have created stunning mixed-media triptychs inspired by nature. Using sketching, collage, printmaking and line work, they combined a variety of techniques and materials to produce vibrant, textured artworks that celebrate the beauty of the natural world.
